Speer Woodwork Designs is a veteran-owned, family-based custom woodworking shop specializing in handcrafted furniture made from western Pennsylvania hardwoods. What began as a weekend hobby in 2019 has grown into a full-time passion, creating one-of-a-kind desks, tables, cutting and charcuterie boards, shadow boxes and custom pieces built for a lifetime of use. We believe custom furniture should be affordable, personal, and beautifully made—functional art designed just for your home.

Solid western PA walnut shadow box trunk. The beautiful grain of the walnut with maple accents really draws attention! Included coin rack and storage makes for more than an accent piece, but a functional piece of furniture. Laser engraved plaque and epoxy filled rank personalizes it with a classy look. Why is it named “The Mama”? The idea and first creation was inspired by Mrs. Speer Woodwork Designs’ retirement from military service.
